Ely Cathedral Choir i Selje Kyrkje

I samband med Seljumannamesse 2026 får vi storfint besøk av Ely Cathedral Choir frå England, som vil starte sin Noregsturnè med ein konsert i Selje kyrkje. Katedralkoret består av songarar i alderen 9-13 år og vaksne profesjonelle songarar, og er blant Englands beste, med turnèar i inn- og utland.  Dei held til dagleg til i Elykatedralen frå 1083 i bispedømmet Ely i Cambridges. Katedralkoret i Ely er mange hundre år gammalt, og tradisjonen med dagleg kormusikk er framleis ein viktig del av aktiviteten  katedralen.

Konserten blir arrangerte i samarbeid med Seljuannamessekomiteen i Stad kyrkjelege fellesråd.

Ely Cathedral Choir in Selje Church

In connection with Seljumannamesse 2026, we will have a wonderful visit from Ely Cathedral Choir from England, who will start their Norwegian tour with a concert in Selje Church. The cathedral choir consists of boy choristers aged 9 -13 and adult professional singers and is among England’s best, with tours at home and abroad. They have been performing daily in Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire since 1083. The cathedral choir in Ely is many centuries old, and the tradition of daily choral music is still an important part of the cathedral’s activities.

 The concert is arranged in collaboration with the Seljumannames Committee in Stad Church Council.
